Loubie is a HUGE carebear fan. Care bears this, care bears that, it is cute and I prefer them to the power rangers. So, I get him a T.shirt and he is thrilled, it is black, with an orange and a pink care bear of the front. I think it may be a girl's cut, but who cares, the boy is 4 years old.
So, off we got to preschool this morning. We walk through the door and 2 girls run up to him...
"ohhhh, Lewis, I like your care bear shirt"
They follow him around as he navigates the room in search of the crayon box. Then a boy in his class sees him and said shirt. "Lewis, that's a girl's shirt"
Loubie makes a face that you can only really 'get' if you see it, a sort of smirk type pout.
Boy sits down and taps another boy "look, Lewis has a girl's shirt, look, look LOOK" Other boy is not really interested and ignores the pulls on his sleeve to take a look. The gender differences, aren't they funny?
I wave bye to Loubie and say "Loubie, enjoy your day in your new Care Bear shirt" He smiles, the other boy looks at me as if I am insane!
