another palette in paradise

Last night I was in the kitchen and noticed a very strange hue, so I looked out the window and this is what I saw (kidding of course, I live near the beach, not on it, remember who you're talking to/listening to here!)

So, I grabbed Loubie, and said 'come, my son, come to the roof with me' and he immediately followed. I knew once I got up there and could see the sea and sky over the buildings, that I needed my camera and tripod, so off we went downstairs to get it. We crossed the road and this is the result. pretty nice huh!

In other news, I am going to be a single mother for a while while Albert goes off to the states for training. I sound calm and feel calm right now, but I will probably ave a nervous breakdown and he'll have to pick me up from the mental unit upon his return (Caz, can you mind the kids?!)

Talking of Caz, I am lucky enough to have a 'long lost sister' out here. And I hope she doesn't zoom off to the states and leave me all alone (hint, hint, if you are reading). I know I will be dealing with my first ever experience of a typhoon while Albert is gone, it is always the way. Only thing is the USMC can't seem to make up their minds when he is going, but it looks like he is going to be missing Loubie's 5th birthday coming up :o(

That makes me sad and Loubs and April will be sad. And the Boobahs on his cake will be sad. Farry wil be sad and the hamsters will be sad.

On another note, it kind of brings any photo shoots to a screeching halt. But, such is life and I will be able to really get into it again when the kids start school again. Maybe I can use the time (I don't have) to learn some photoshop stuff (maybe not - huh!). But I will be playing with my new camera. Yep, it's here, thank you very much, Beach Camera of New Jersey (or New Joiseey!) And, mostly, thank you Albert, my lovely brown husband with the brown wallet. You know I am poor, but hey, your money is my money and my money is my money, so it's all good! But seriously, Thanks :o)

Now, there are a couple of lenses I would like you to review in my shopping cart, JOKE. Oh, how I wish I had a trust fund! Or a credit card with no name that worked! Or some dollar bills (big ones) would fall from the sky!

Actually, it's not about the equipment, it's about the eye, it's all about the eye, but equipment can help. Talking of the eye, Shelia (see April in the middle?) posted on her blog this morning that she sees out of one eye. I couldn't believe it. I am always so worried about my vision, since I can have a retinal detachment at any given time, due to lattice degeneration. It made me feel better when you know what can be done with one seeing eye. Now, she really has THE EYE.

Also, scroll down on Shelia's blog to the one posted 'blue eyes' and there's April from our recent photo shindig!

Too many hyperlinks, sorry! Later, Alligators.
