Went to this street a couple of days ago with the photo group I started on Okinawa Ning, PhotOkinawa. If you are on Okinawa and like to take photos, you should join up. It's always fun to go out with a bunch of photographers! It was just myself and Rene, but that was just fine. It was hot, but we had a laugh. There were lots of textures, colours and shapes to shoot...
Not too many people. We found these old men and they were more than happy to be our 'victims'!
And when you don't have many subjects, what's to be done? Well, you have to turn the camera on each other...
Here's Rene acting silly in front of a cool store front...Rock 'n roll, man!
For those of you not on Okinawa, this Street is sort of infamous as a bar hopping, crazy times Street. It has a 'bad boy' reputation. However, for photography lovers, it is also home to some very colourful storefronts, as you can see! Not too much crazy happenings at 9am! It was fun, Rene, see you soon. That is if you don't wanna kill me for posting all these photos, hey, you can post photos of me acting like a fool! :o)

Love it. Maybe I need to buy some of your prints to decorate our house from our time here in Oki!
So I guess this is what I missed, huh? I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pictures of the local men. For some reason it just really makes you see that "worked hard all my like look". A real farmer in his time, may have war stories or whatever. I don't know if that made any sense. I like the other ones too. It is so funny how we walk past those things everyday, but a professional photographer, like yourself, sees something in a rusty old pipe and brings something interseting to it in a photo. I really like it.
great color! the fellas...love old guys...you can really see life in them...and just imagine what their life has been like..i like to make up stories about their adventures..i know...i am wierd!..cant wait to meet back up! see you soon!
Love the textured feel these pictures have and there's so much color, love it! The pictures of the older gentlemen makes me want to know their story. People pictures are wonderful, I just wish I had the guts to ask people if I could take their picture.
Thanks everyone. My fav is the heart rust! Marisa, don't worry, we walkwd past a few people before we asked. Some days I have the guts, other days I am 'shy' and too scared to ask! It's all in 'my many coloured days' LOL
