Bad, bad, bad...

bad blogger person, so I am...
You know, you've really go to be in the mood to blog and I fell out of it for a good few...just like you have to be in the mood to paint or go out and take random photos...it's all what with comes with being an art-eeest darling (said tongue in cheek, of course!)

I have been a busy person though. I have been doing my usual volunteering at Loubie's school. Attending a few school events. I did career day at the kid's school a couple of weeks ago talking about photography, the kids seemed to enjoy it!

We are also deciding whether it is really worth the hassle (and cost) of moving just because I really don't like the brown walls (like living inside a tree...hmmm, thinking of it like that, it's pretty cool). Well, it's not just that, I would like some more business type space and maybe an extra inch of kitchen counter...some kids for the kids to play with and a garden...Oh, a pool...ha ha I am getting carried away now!

I spent a day with the Okinawa Hai girls up the North of the island and we had a swingingly good time. Found this cool 'statue' on a bath on a roof...

Albert came back from deployment only to be found nowhere near home most of the time with crazy shifts. But I managed to get a couple of photo shoots in, which, you will see soon...

Oh, talking of photography...On Saturday May 30th, I am teaching a photo class at Kadena Youth Center for kids aged 9-12...if you are on Okinawa, give them a call. You have to reserve a spot!

AND...I am also showing my photos at Foster Library's Art Connections for the entire month of June. Swing by if you are on Okinawa.

Here's one of my little projects. It started with one horse/pony eye and became a project in progress!!! Jen, one of the instructor's, is PCSing and I gave her a print of her fav pony eye. The Eye of Sly! He's gorgeous, isn't he! Safe travels, Jen and Family...

I Heart Faces - Silhouette

Here's is my entry for this week's I Heart Faces theme of silhouettes...

It was hard for me to choose between a few photos I have, but I chose this one because I love April's flowing hair and her profile is so serene...I can almost smell the fresh sea breeze she is breathing in!
Check the rest of the lovely entries out at the I Heart Faces site...

JUMP! for joy...

When you have parent's like this...

you know the kids are going to be fun...

Cathy and her family are soon to head back stateside. There were a family of 4, but are recently a family of 5, since they just adopted the gorgeous happy smiley A from the Marshall Islands...

When you have siblings like these two...

life is sweet...
We had been meaning to set up a shoot for some time and finally we managed to find a morning that would work for all of us. Yippee!
We jumped for joy!

Thanks Cathy and family, we'll miss seeing you here...safe travels :o)

I HEART Faces - blurb photo book

OK, this week on (the highly addictive-I-should-be-going-to-bed-blog) I heart faces, they are doing a blurb photo book week and asking you to submit your best face photo EVER. Well, no guess, if you read this blog, which photo I am choosing. I think this is my fav ever photo taken of April (my daughter). I like it because to me it is so pure and simple, the image itself and the post processing. And I just want to add that the hat is NOT real fur :o)
So, since this week you can enter a photo previously entered. Here it is again (I can hear the yawns!!!)!...It was honourable mention in week 7 (BW week).

"I am submitting this photo into the www.iheartfaces.com Blurb Book photo contest. I am granting I Faces permission to use my photo in a printed version of a book for commercial use and possibly advertising of a photo book on both the Blurb and I Faces web sites."

I HEART Faces - Hats

Here are my I heart Faces entries for this week's HATS theme...The first one for the ADULTS category was taken recently when my parents were visiting and my Mum was trying on a hat in a traditional Okinawan home! She's gonna go mad when she see's this! I think it's a pretty good photo of her though, but she HATES having her photo taken.

Next is the KIDS entry. This is my friend, Rene's daughter. Gorgeous, isn't she! She was such a great little model on this day and I love the hat! I wonder what she was thinking, she looks very pensive!

Be sure to head on over to www.iheartfaces.com to check out all of the beautiful hat entries this week!

I also realize I have become a bad blogger. Procrastination central. Maybe the sun will wake me up!
