Ahoy! Me Hearties...
I am super behind on shoot blog posts, so here is one to get the ball rolling...
I met Natalie through preschool: Our son's went to the same one, that was almost 2 years ago now. How time flies. We always bump into each other in the commissary and discuss the state of the food (I won't go there right now, but I have not seen Food Inc yet, in case I freak). We talked about a photo shoot for months and finally we did it and boy did we choose the right morning because rain followed the next week. Lots of it!
We did some traditional shots and then we got wild! Seems to be the way my shoots go! Luckily I get a good match of clients. Plus, I don't advertise, everything is word of mouth, which is the best advertising anyway so I hear...I think the families know they may end up in the sea, in a tree or jumping off walls at some point!...this time we were jellyfish!...

Then I took a few minutes to get some shots of the boys playing...yep, this is the sea during 'winter' here...

and discovering...

This is E's thing, he loves his binoculars!...

While the boys were having fun in the sand, I grabbed a moment for a photo of Mum and Dad...

I love how it turned out...
Then out came the fish eye again...strong boys...arrrrrggggggg...

Finally, the family come together for a family shot...back to life, back to reality...

I forgot to mention, they bought these wonderful Okinawan shirts especially for the shoot! Great choice! It was a blast, Thank you guys! :o)
Whenever I get home from a morning shoot I am super energized like nobody's business. Anyone that knows me, knows that I am not a morning person. Only photoshoots seem to give me that morning burst of energy. Maybe I need to drink coffee! Ha Ha!

The yellow brick road revised...
I know I am a terrible blog neglect-er or is it neglect-or, well I know it is none of those at all but I am quite neglectful of this blog! So here is a sneak peek where we were not off to see the wizard, but off to seek out some crazy urban Christmas shots. No beaches were featured in the making of this shoot!

More coming soon!

I Heart Faces - Autumn Beauty

I painted April's face and took this about 2 weeks ago, this was the image I had in my mind so I am glad it turned out the way I 'saw' it :o) It is not really autumn-y per se, however, I am living on a sub tropical island and I think the colours fit the theme :o)

What, no humidity!
I have been a bad, bad blogger, what can I say, but oh well. I have been too busy out taking photos (biz and personal) to worry about blogging, life is busy, something had to fall to the wayside and it wasn't going to be photo taking or my family!
The weather has been lovely, almost San Diego-esque, of late. However, along with the weather change, my allergies have gone crazy...coral dust maybe? There was a typhoon by the Phillapines, so we did have one weekend of rain and wind, so no photo shoot that weekend...
Apart from that no crazy hideous dripping humidity. Great for my electricity bill and for an early morning photo session...in colour...

and black and white!...

More soon...
I keep thinking that there must be some kind of mistake. Surely this weather cannot really be. I think that Sunday was one of the loveliest days. So lovely that I was at Araha Beach three times. First at 7am for a photo shoot...
Then to walk the chihuahua we are looking after, along with Harry! What a sight, a chihuahua and a pitbull!
Then, got a phone call from Annya that she was in the area, gathered the kids up again and off we went again. This day was too nice to not be out.

Annya's son...

What else...
April is enjoying being a Junior in Girl Scouts. Both the kids love school and their teachers. Albert is still gone with the wind. Got myself a fish eye lens so been having fun with that. I only waited 13 years to replace my old one that broke!
The seawall (with texture added)...this photo also won me a little prize! Better than a kick in the teeth hey!

Here's my friend, Candice's (AKA Mermaid lady) daughter posing! Ha ha...

(also see the sunset silhouette photos above)...
