I Heart Faces - Raise your hands

This was the first photo I thought of when thinking of hands. This was back on my first Space A trip to Singapore. I see these hands as pensive hands, lived in hands, working hands, praying hands, loving hands! Shot with the nifty fifty. Love it!

Singapore - Part 3. The Buddhist Temples.

Singapore was just simply amazing, I felt like I had gone to a bunch of different countries in one trip. Perfect for someone like me with a time constraint and 2 kids in tow!
Here are some of my favourite images from the Buddhist temples...

You have to love incense sticks! Especially in hot pink!

Colours everywhere...

This man was lost in prayer at a Buddhist temple. Loved his eyes...

I'll be back!

Singapore - Part 2. Family at the Hindu Temple.

I made a deal with the kids. Temple in the morning, swimming right after. Singapore was HOT. The kids wanted to swim, I wanted to photograph temples. Although they enjoyed the temple experience, I knew I had to cut some deal, especially with Loubie. LOL. So, off we went to the Sri Srinivasa Perumal temple. I could just stay in these temples all day. The are fantastically colourful, vibrant, alive...

This temple in particular is dedicated to Lord Perumal, the Preserver of the universe and god of mercy and goodness. While we were there I saw a family with a little girl. Her eyes were so captivating. She oozed life. I asked Mum and Dad if I could take a photo and they said yes!
This is one of my favourite images EVER, I am glad I bumped into them!

I sent the photo to the family. They were very pleased :o)
Good Morning. The Photo is marvelous. I cannot say in the words. Thanks your very much Pamela.
And that's it, that's all I hope to achieve: a lovely image and pleased and happy parents!
We also, at the request of the parents, took with my kids and some of them...

Beautiful family...

Love the smiles...

More soon, I am having so much fun with all these photos from Singapore!

Images from Singapore - Part 1

I took 2 lenses, since I was traveling alone with the kids...my ever faithful nifty 50 and the fisheye...Most of the shots were taken whilst I had Loubie and/or April in the other hand, except the temples where April did her own cool photography with the point and shoot...She didn't just snap away. She stood composing each image. I think that's just brilliant! (Who says you can't get great photos with a P&S?!)

and Loubie sat and listened to the drums!...

Little India was my favourite place because of the smells, vibrant sights and sounds just took me back to my 6 mth backpacking trip around India in 1991!
This lady was selling all kinds of Indian jewelry. She tried on a bunch of stuff on April. April opted for a anklet, then the obligatory bartering started! I think she is giving me daggers here trying to strike a hard bargain!

Here same image in Black and White...just like I would have gotten in India back in 1991!

This lady followed the kids around and was very happy to watch them and see April enjoying photographing the temple. I asked to take her photo and she nodded the Indian nod. I got some further away ones but wanted the whole nose ring thing!

At a temple in Little India. She gave the kids some Hindi god cards. She didn't want any baksheesh, she was just kind.

This lady was sitting in the St. near Arab St. I didn't even notice her nose was missing at first. I wonder what her story is. I asked if I could take her picture and she nodded and smiled. Beauty can be seen in many faces.

Here's Loubie, getting in the mix and photographing the festival!

More soon!
