It makes me really happy and nervous at the same time when a fellow photographer hires me to take their photos! Happy because that's a lovely compliment! Nervous, because it's photography and it's a part of me (a very BIG part I must say!), so I want to do the best I can and when it's a photographer you think 'are they going to be super critical' etc etc. But, then I bring myself back down to earth and say 'well, if they didn't like my work, they wouldn't hire me in the first place' So, I keep the happy end of the spectrum!
Tara, who owns Blue Bamboo Photography (whose name I LOVE and does great work too!) here in Okinawa, met during one of our PhotOkinawa meetings on flash (of which I learnt nothing because everyone was enjoying each others company so much and talking about everything else too!!!). Her family were absolutely amazing on the shoot, even a 5 and 2 yr old...and I know kids have a time limit which I try and respect!
This makes me smile. Hubby, Marcus, was awesome on the shoot and I know Tara is happy to have him home after being gone working for about 7 mths (Navy Corpsmen ROCK!)
Look at those eyes. I love portraits like this!
Miss S, happy girl! She really enjoyed my daughter (who came to help on the shoot) pretending to hit me over the head with an an umbrella to get the kids looking and laughing!!!
Laughter...
