2 adults, a 2 yr old and one lucky dog!

This is I think my 3rd or 4th shoot with the Salgado Family...

It is great to have repeat clients because you get to another comfort level...

Where the client can trust in you that you are going to get the shot they want no matter what...

Now you wouldn't believe that Mr. D was being a 2 yr old and doing what most 2 yr olds are supposed to do and not be interested in photos during the shoot!

Which is fine, because I will just follow him around as he is getting on with his day of PLAY and investigating!

Somewhere along the way bits of magic happen...

And we mustn't forget the other family member...Lucky Dog!

Lucky and his Mum! This is inspired by the great photographer Elliot Erwitt

Thank you Mary and Family x
I also want to share with you one of the Salgado Family's framed photos and what Mary wrote about their shoots with me...

"Thanks Pamela Oliveras for perfectly capturing my baby boy's growth in your art work! We will definitely miss your fun photo shoots when we leave Oki!!! I think being a good photographer takes more than just getting good photographs. Its having professionalism, flexibility, great attitude and a rockin' personality...and you got all of them!"
I think it's important. Whatever photographer you hire, you need to be able to feel comfortable with not only their style of photography, but their service and personality!

Run Jannine Run!

Shame on me, for I have neglected this blog and am only just getting to stuff from AUGUST!!!
Here's good friend and local super runner, Jannine!

We met up very early on in the summer to get some shots of her running for some runner blogging stuff and what-not!

I can't find the original image for this, but you can see how early it is, look at our shadows, I love it!!! This can be a pain sometimes on early morning shoots, trying to hide from your own shadow getting in the shots! Probably why when I get home, I am usually covered in sand and you have to be VERY careful with the gear. Sand plus camera+NO BUENO!!!
The light was continuously changing. It's weird how the light is different during the summer. The humidity makes it a 'wet' sort of hazed, still light. I dunno, that's my way of describing it LOL

Jannine co-runs the WOOT and WOOP running groups on Okinawa. I was running, but emmm, well, yeah, we'll see you soon dear neglected blog!!!!

We are Family...

Meet the Browns...(again). This is my 3rd (4th if you count the babyogi session) shoot with Downtown Julie Brown and family. This time it was Dad's parents visiting. We were meeting at the Castle Ruins, but the castle ruins decided to have a big giant black cloud with lots of rain coming out of it on this particular day. So we rescheduled. However, when looking out at the beach area from a high point on my way home, the weather looked very un-rain-like. I called Julie, and luckily she was still in the area. She gathered the masses and off we trotted to Araha. Now, bear in mind time is ticking. And ticking time means high sun and harsh light. But we worked it like champs...thanks to shade and some slight overcasting on the beach...
The proud Grandparents...
To be a child. Such innocence...
I LOVE these shoots af Julie and hubby...look at that smile. Brilliant!

And, I had to get one color collage in (Julie LOVES Black and White)...
Thanks Julie and Fam', it was great working with you AGAIN! :o)

I interrupt all these baby photos for...

a sunset silhouette...
This is one of the things I love about being out here, so close to the water and so close to gorgeous sunsets. Once again, April was my model and she didn't complain once! She is the perfect model (and my only one, can't imagine Loubie staying till for this!) with a great profile. I added an ortonish effect to it to add to the dreaminess.
On another note, the weather is been so much nicer here, last night I had all the balcony doors open, the wind was howling through and it even felt a little, dare a say it, chilly!

Photo Shoot

Here's one from the shoot yesterday, can you feel the love? It radiates out from the photo, if I kept it in colour, it would be blazing red. I love this photo of Julie and son. More from the shoot will be posted in my portfolio on pbase ASAP.
