FW: Helicopter Moms vs. Free-Range Kids

Thought this was an interesting article, especially since living in Japan, where you see very young kids walking to the bus stop on their way to and from school...seems much more in line with Europe. In Cali, kids are shuffled from soccer game to soccer game, into an SUV, out of the SUV, into the house, out of the house to get into that SUV to get to that soccer game, it's very 'bubble-like'. I think that might be why I feel more 'at home' here...it's more what I am used to, my hard wiring from growing up in London. Just like eating beans on toast, when I'm feeling down or sick is comforting...Here's the article anyways...
