My Birthday Day

Today was my birthday and I had a surprisingly good day considering Albert is away for the week and I have no home phone, therefore, couldn't speak to anyone in UK and USA).

After I got the kids off to school, I came home and walked Harry Dog along the sea wall. Next, we got a new oven, since the old one was causing probs. That was all done and installed by 10:30am. That's when I took off again in the cube and headed up to cafe Nirali, where there is a photo exhibition of HDR photography. Had myself lunch and ogled at the great photos.

Went off and took some photos of my own, then headed to Makeman and the 100 yen store, whoopee dooppie, that place is amazing. Man, the Japanese have it down, they think of everything and then sell it for 100 yen! I spent $30 and came home with pens, nice smelly erasers, toothpaste holders, bento boxes, plant pots, etc. I was on a high!

Onwards to Petbox, where I got a cage and all the stuff to house 2 dwarf hamsters that April will choose on Sunday, her birthday. Now, get this. They wrapped the cage and all the stuff (sawdust, water bottle, etc). It was free and THEY OFFERED and did it with so much passion. There were ribbons and bows. I couldn't believe it.  I was in so much shock I had to go and pet the ferrets, guineas pigs and hamsters all over again. Oh, plus buy a snail and an algae eater for my Mollie tank!

By now it is practically 3pm, time to pick Loubs up. Home, wait for April to get off bus, pack a snack and my camera and head out to Araha beach. Since it is Earth day, they were apparently doing a beach cleanup (according to April), but nothing going on when we got there. So we played and I got to talk to another Brit whom I met and lives near by and seems very cool and funny.

Homeward bound...stopping every so often to take some pics of the kids (see above)...into Dragon for some noodles. There was another family there that I got talking to and they seemed really nice, gave her my card and hopefully the kids can play...So these past few weeks I have met a bunch of great people...Noraida and her wonderful family, a friend of Noraida's (who is really nice but I can't recall her name because I need to hear it a few more times!), Candice, Heidi and the Meet Up group, Tomo and her girls, Aviva and the Oki hai crew and today's people. Now, I'm going to read and go to sleep and hope tomorrow is as good as today!

Hahaha...what I failed to mention is that my dog and I have a...ahem... on again/off again relationship. He is old, he is needy, he is grumpy, I am annoyed, I am busy, I have new-baby-sleep-deprivation...therefore we don't get along. LOL. BUT despite it all, I do love him... I just haven't taken any pictures of him lately b/c I'm spiteful like that.

On a totally less psychotic note... keep an eye on his skin. You know how red-nosed pits tend to have skin irritation problems...well this climate (the extra humidity and all the mold) has really done a number on his skin...he scratches until he bleeds sometimes. The on-base vet can help with steroid shots if necessary...but just FYI :)
