I never wrote a blog post about this cool shoot I did in Atlanta last
year, so here it is. Better late than never, hey! So, Heather is the
daughter of my friend and fellow Okinawa Hai blogger, Dasha. Dasha hired
me to do Heather's senior photos
back when we were all in Okinawa in 2009 I want to say. Well, since
then, Heather 'adulted' and became a super duper intelligent linguistics
person and moved to Augusta, Georgia. So, one day I post on my facebook
page that I am traveling to Atlanta...
Heather
replies that she would love to book a shoot. So, that's what happened.
We met up in ATL. It was super hot and humid but we shot around the
'little five points' area and had a blast!
The owner of this shop kindly let us use this space as the light was so amazing!
I love this in b+w too
The royal Heather :)
The street art in the area was captivating...
Again love a b+w conversion. Sometimes I go for a traditional, clean b+w, sometimes a more vintage artsy one like this...
Heather rocked it as I knew she would...
Here are a couple with the shoes for Mum, Dasha
I love this!
3 or 4 outfit changes later and it was a wrap and we went for a veggie wrap in one of the cool little cafes in the area :)
Thank you Heather for once again trusting in my vision, coming up with cool collaborations and being a great person x
On the way home, I stopped at Oakland Cemetery - I was in sea foam green and turquoise heaven!
and then Savannah's Bonaventure...I just love Mausoleums :)
Until next time, happy travels!

Dyllan + Kayla = Okinawa LOVE - Okinawa Couples Photographer
There is a great story behind this amazing couple shoot...
So, I was contacted by Dyllan's Mum in Florida before Christmas. She wanted to buy my iOkinawa 12x12 coffee table book for her DIL, Kayla, who apparently has been a fan of my work for a long time! So honoured to hear that :) So, we arranged all that and I met up with Dyllan to give him the book and then he booked a photo session with me as an extra Christmas surprise...
Now, the weather had been pretty dodgy (Jan) and this day was pretty grey and a 'shall we reschedule or not' kind of day. My rule of thumb is pretty much if it isn't raining and/or super windy, we're good to go...I check the satellite and it's on! (Like Donkey Kong LOL)
Because I feel like I've been in Okinawa long enough to know that the sea still produces the most amazing colours even when it looks like death out LOL
and, of course, when we got to Gala, it proved itself! I breathed a sigh of relief that 'every little things gonna be alright' on this shoot!
and it was beyond alright!
It's a different kind of vibe when it's dull out but I love how the colours work even if you don't get a 'typical' sunset...and of course, I love clouds anyway
Feeling this in BW too...
These two were BRILLIANT on the shoot, I couldn't have asked for a more fun and nice couple. Oki All Day!
The castle in the sea...
So much LOVE!
And Kayla is in my fav colour!
{Right before} The Kiss...LOVE
OKI ALL DAY!!! YEAHHHHHHH!!!
Dyllan and Kayla, you rocked it and I am so happy to have met you both and shot your images. Special shout out to Mum Jonna for contacting me and arranging all this! What a cool MIL! Hope you LOVED the rainbow postcard. Namaste :)

Toguchi Family including Mojo the dog - Okinawa Family Photographer
Another great family session at Toguchi
The Larson Family were leaving for Germany and wanted some Oki backdrop memories for their family. Since they lived right around here, this is where they wanted those great memories :)
Cute son :)
He reminds me of my son Lewis and his dog. So great to see a boy and his dog hanging out!
Mojo!
Childhood. It's so fleeting and it's a blessing to be near the sea :)
Got to get one with the infamous Toguchi rock!
A cool sunset silhouette and the dog too :)
Mum and Dad
A boy and his dog again
And I just LOVE this one taken right at the end of the shoot!
Thank you so much Katy and Family, I hope these photos bring you great and happy memories and I also hope you love the iOkinawa book your friends bought for you x
(BTW I have a few iOkinawa copies (7x7) on hand if anyone is interested) :)
